Use of the latest technology

IIDZ- Austria certified halal-foods are randomly checked in an independent accredited laboratory via tests carried out with the latest PCR-DNA analysis.

Information for suppliers

The highest level of quality is attained with regards the inspection and certification of the company through networking and combining competencies.

The following three competence areas are covered:

• Definition and standardisation of the Islamic- theological requirements for halal and haram and the corresponding description in the production and service areas.
• Analysis and conformance of the production and service process and of the raw material production.
• Ensuring the halal-quality system and gathering the data and documentation required for this. The compilation of the halal-criteria and the confirmation of halal-quality is carried out by competent IIDZ-Austria employees. The experience of the production-industry as well as experts in quality management were consulted during the compilation of the halal standards.

How does a business become halal-certified?

During the inspections, the auditors assess the respective business premises and products by means of halal-checklists to see if they comply with the respective ONR- standards. If these inspections are passed successfully, then the business receives the IIDZ certificate and is entitled to label the product with the corresponding IIDZ-logo.

In addition, the requirements are ensured by an in-house IIDZ self-check carried out by trained employees, who constantly document this quality-control at the given location.

With regard to this, additional in-house staff-training carried out by IIDZ also guarantees the company's halal-conformity.

Basis of certification

At our instigation, a group of experts led by us, was formed at the Austrian Standards Institute (ON). This group has developed mandatory guidelines for the halal-certification as ÖNORM - regulation (ONR 142000/142001).

Depending on the customer and country, it is possible to certify according to other norms and standards. International recognition of the IIZD - halal certificate is guaranteed through our accreditation.
